The Foundation of Goodness would like to highlight the generous contribution of some of our youngest
donors. From all over the world, we have been overwhelmed by the support from so many Schools and
their students. These young people, teachers, parents and friends have been so eager to help out
their fellow students in Sri Lanka and this is a truly noble act.
Sasha Walicki and Raphael Terma, both nine years old from Nice, France are directly assisting Janaka
from Seenigama. All three young people share a love of sport, they are pictured above from left to
right, Sasha, Raphael and Janaka.
The boys from France are able to empathize with Janaka who after the tsunami did not have the means
to pursue Badminton. Sasha and Raphael both love to play tennis have compassionately given from
their own pocket money to assist Janaka. Their own words speak for themselves:
"I decided that helping raise money for a foundation for such a tragic disaster would be a very good
cause. However this particular boy impacted me, as I am a sports fan. I put myself in his
position, however by loosing tennis equipment and realized I would feel quite sad. In the past I
already donated my books, toys and money to the Foundation of Goodness which happens to be helping
this boy and felt that my money should go into purchasing the equipment required for Janaka who is
around my age. I hope my friend Raphael and I will succeed and raise enough money to help him."
- Sasha Walicki
"Janaka, I know that you had lots of problems because of the tsunami and this makes me feel very
sorry for you. I play tennis and this helps me to overcome my problems and hope this will be
the case for you too. Good luck with the badminton."
- Raphael Terma
