Since its inception, the Foundation of Goodness has been fortunate enough to be associated with and host a number of local and foreign celebrities, VIPs and even famous landmarks. Through the Foundation's partnership with the Muralidaran, Vaas and Gunasekera Foundation (MVGF) and our Founder's (Kushil Gunasekera's) long-standing association with the Sri Lanka Cricket Board and Team, the Foundation has hosted many local cricket heroes, including Muttiah Muralidaran, Chaminda Vaas and Mahela Jayawardene. In fact, Murali was one of the first supporters of the Foundation of Goodness and has provided a wealth of support and contacts ever since.

Through Kushil's involvement at an administrative level with the Sri Lanka Cricket Board, he formed close links with many players in the Sri Lanka Cricket Team. During the Foundation's early days, many of the local cricket stars were chief guests in the village of Seenigama, especially through our essential school supplies programme. The village children gained more excitement and hope through their interactions with their nation's cricketing legends than they did from receiving their school packs. And the stars got a lot back as well. Through what he saw in Seenigama, Murali gained the inspiration to establish his own charitable organisation and invited Kushil to join and manage his new Foundation whilst simultaneously managing Murali as a sportsperson. The like-minded and generous cricket star, Chaminda Vaas, was subsequently inspired and joined the Foundation so that it became the Muralidaran, Vaas and Gunasekera Foundation (MVGF).

Since that time, MVGF has carried out a multitude of approximately 275 charitable projects throughout Sri Lanka to assist the country's needy. Murali is a very kind and generous individual who, with his background and fame, has been able to connect both MVGF and the Foundation of Goodness with an array of large donors, including Lafarge Cement, MCC, Laureus Sport for Good Foundation, The Shane Warne Foundation, The Steve Waugh Foundation and the Surrey County Cricket Club to name but a few.
